Weight Loss Workout Log – Day 6 and 7 of my first 90 day cycle

Day 6 was supposed to be a cardio day, but other things came up. I did learn something valuable though. I put off going to the gym til the afternoon rather than going first thing in the morning. Whoops! Guess who called. That’s right. My boss. And now I’m going to work rather than the gym.

Let that be a lesson. Anything and everything will come up at anytime of the day. If I want to ensure that I get my workout, I’ve got to go first thing in the morning before distractions come along. This is again motivation for getting out of bed early and taking care of me. Yesterday’s workout was a bust, but I’m not worried. Wednesday brings day 7 and the conclusion to my first week.

Day 5 went as planned. Weekend off, though I still managed to walk the dog 2 miles on Sunday. It’s funny how having a pet makes you not just responsible, but you begin to regain the joy of the simple things in life. Well, I do anyway. Going for a walk makes the dog happy, which in turn makes me happy that I was able to give him what he wants. And it’s good for me too. Walking the dog is one of the simple pleasures of my life.

Weight Loss Workout Log – Day 3 and 4 of my first 90 day cycle

Day 3 went as planned.  I was awesome and excited all day. And I hiked 3 miles in Ice Box Canyon.

Day 4 is Saturday and it’s a rest day. I’ve decided that Saturday and Sunday will be my rest days, rather than coinciding my off days with my off work days. For me, when I have a day off work, I usually allow myself to sleep in. That starts my day pleasantly, but it also sets a loaf and lazy kind of mood for the day. Again, pleasant, but generally unrewarding. So I’ve decided that my workout rest days will follow my longest and latest work days. Saturday and Sunday.

Weight Loss Workout Log – Day 2 of my first 90 day cycle

Day 2 started with a glitch. When I woke up to walk the dog at 6am, I forgot it would be dark. My dog, Murphy, walks off leash in the canyons and foothills here in Henderson Nevada. He runs up and down the hillsides like a wild man. Four paws equal four wheel drive, so he climbs to some cool spots. The problem is that so do the coyotes, which we’ve seen on other walks at dawn. Dawn is different than darkness so I opted to go back to bed.

Weight Loss Workout Log – Day 1 of my first 90 day cycle

Well, it’s day 1 of my first “documented” 90 day cycle. I’ve already started some healthy habits and now it’s time to put all of the pieces of the puzzle together. However, I did have a few inconsistencies and stumbling blocks over the past weekend that have half way negated my efforts. It’s amazing how fast my birthday weekend let my bad habits sneak back into my life. I’ll give you a quick glimpse just to reminisce and get it out of my system.
