Weight Loss Workout Log – Day 1 of my 2nd 90 day Cycle.

So I have already spent my first 90 day cycle working this program and during the first month I lost an amazing 20 pounds! Then just taking a casual approach over the last 2 months I have lost another 10 pounds.

I measured my progress during this time and I know that I lost fat and unneeded water weight because I was measuring my BFI (Body Fat Index), and my weight.

So I did not just lose muscle because of a reduced calorie diet.

Despite what others have said about rapid weight loss being so unhealthy I feel great so I think they are just blowing smoke in my face. And of course nobody that says that too me is lean and mean, so I have a hard time believing them.

But you have to ask the question, “Why does everyone feel like rapid weight loss is so unhealthy?”.

I would argue this… In most cases people who experience rapid weight loss get excited about losing weight so fast that they believe it is possible to maintain that until they reach their weight loss goal. Effectively undoing a lifetime of bad habits in just a few months.

But, the reality of our metabolism is that your body cannot maintain such a rapid weight loss pace. You body seeks balance. When this happens you will hit a weight loss wall… that is a point where you just can’t seem to lose any additional weight.

This is because your body has acclimated to your new habits and you must shock it to get it moving again. But before you can shock it you must allow it to get comfortable by floating for a month or so. You have to be content with losing small amounts of weight at this point.

We lose weight and gain weight in cycles. Just like the stock market or currencies move up in trends and down in trends, your body gains and loses weight in trends.

Every system works like this. The economy, the water cycle, the nitrogen cycle, weight gain or weight loss, every system trends up, down or moves sideways.

So when it comes to weight loss, large amounts of weight lost quickly (causing a short term downward trend) will often rebound into higher weight (causing an upward trend in the long run). Leaving you to lose 20 pounds then regain 22 pounds, more than when you started. This is your bodies way of balancing and compensating to deal with fluctuations in your habits…

So I would challenge you to really think about the real problem… is the problem rapid weight loss/gain or is it the formation of proper/improper habits?

My habit is getting into the gym at least 5 times a week, watching what I eat, taking supplements, and drinking lots of water.

Today I did:

20 Minutes of medium to high intensity Elliptical (That cardio machine that works your legs and arms at the same time.)

10 Minutes of Stretching.

20 Minutes on the heavy bag doing high intensity kicking and punching.

10 Minutes in the Sauna
